Friday Fantastic Four

Let's say you had an iPod that only held four songs.  What would they be?

  1. Take it Easy - The Eagles - at different times we've all had a mess on our hands

  2. Miami 2017 - Billy Joel - some of his best writing and a wonderful arrangement

  3. You Shook Me - AC/DC - classic 80s rock.  Maybe the best latter-day rock song of all time

  4. Sitting on the Dock of the Bay - Otis Redding  - I've always loved it and it gets better every time I hear it.

If it held five, I'd have to have the best grunge ever:
Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana - remember mosh pits?

Wow -- Miami 2017 is one of my favorite piano pieces of his as well. Played that intro many a time on practice room Kawai baby grand pianos during my brief sojourn as a music major.

1. need a stones song. although "gimme shelter" isn't my favorite of theirs, there is a 26-minute version, so i guess i'd take that.
2. roy ayers: everybody loves the sunshine. hard to be in a bad mood with this on.
3. john coltrane: blue train
4. the band: the weight

nice list!! Maimi 2017 - good pull! Probably his greatest song. I cannot play the intro on the piano but love to play the song on the guitar! Great lyrics!
Would be hard for me to pick just four songs!! But I could live with this list.
