The night after the All-Star Game is the worst sports night of the year. Not a game on anywhere. The British Open doesn't start for 6 more hours. Hell, I'd watch Olympic Softball Qualifying at this point.
Ok. No I won't. I'm not that far gone yet.
Apparently the Ichiro speech eventually worked last night and the American League beat the National League for the 723rd consecutive time. I don't know for certain because i fell asleep about 20 times before the 9th inning. Brad Lidge took the loss and JD Drew was the MVP.
Could it have been worse for Philly Phans?

Yeah, baby -- Game 1 in Minneapolis this October. Come feel the noise. :)
What you describe, though, is exactly why I took today off of work.
Is there a reason the Vikings aren't playing game one until October? Because surely you don't think the Twins will be playing then.
Oh yeah, you're right. I mean, the Twins are only a game and a half better than the Phillies, right?
Hey-
I forgot to say thanks for including the link to the British Open. I'm keeping track of it while at work.
Crazy tournament--I love the set-up witn old timer Greg Norman near the top of the leaderboard. Makes for great weekend TV. He's clearly got his focus back now that he's back from his honeymoon with Chris Evert.
Oops. I guess Greg is still on his honeymoon. Nice set-up: hitting the beach, kickin' it at the 'ol castle and getting in a few rounds of golf while on honeymoon. Damn, I wish I could have had a three-week honeymoon...
One of the benefits of getting married at 53 instead of 23, I suppose.
To Chris Everett too!!
