An October Weekend

We're basking in the glow of a 2-0 Phils lead in the NLCS as well as the first morning where we switched the furnace on.  We're wrapping up a breakfast of chocolate pancakes, bacon and sausage (fat lubricates the heart) here and then we're headed out to enjoy autumn.

The kids want to pick pumpkins, so we're likely going back to Johnson's Farm to participate in the insanity that is a pick your own farm in the midst of heavily populated suburbs in October.  We'll also likely go support the economy by visiting Home Depot for some home repair supplies.  Then back home for a little grillin' in the back yard.

Have a great day!

Chocolate pancakes? First of all, where's the picture? Secondly, where's the recipe. Sounds like they were tastier than the oatmeal pancakes I had this morning.

When I do chocolate pancakes for the kids it's just a matter of adding some chocolate powder to the batter.

My secret is Hershey's dark chocolate syrup!

Sorry. :(
I added two heaping serving spoons of Hershey's cocoa powder to an out-of-a-box batch of about two dozen pancakes.
But lately I have taken to adding cinnamon and nutmeg. Small amount of nutmeg and a decent amount of cinnamon.

nutmeg and cinnamon is for french toast, not pancakes. I'm sticking with the chocolate.

Your loss -- it tastes great. You're awfully committed to the chocolate pancakes considering you just found out about them. :)
